In our Foundry, we are manufacturing Copper Phosphorous Alloys Ingots as per IS:5743-1991 Reaffirmed 2006. Copper Phosphorous Alloys are manufactured in the form of Ingots, Notchaed Bars & In Lumpy Condition. Presently we are manufacturing alloys as per designations CuP10 having 9.0-11.0 Percent Phosphorous & CuP15 having 13.0-15.0 Percent Phosphorous. Phosphorous is a chemical element which has deoxidizing properties. When Copper is malted, oxygen & other gasses from the environment and within the processes will get into the molten metal. These gases mke the metal too porous to be worked and will develp cracks when used for certian applications. Phosphorous helps to remove the oxygen and other gases from Copper during the melt as it increases the strength of Copper. It causes little reaction and dorss formation. As Phosphorous is added to molten Copper, it forms phosphorous pentoxide which results due to the combination of Phosphorous with Oxygen. This Phosphorous Pentaoxide is then removed when the Copper undergoes the refining process. The remaining Phosphorous ends up in the solution with Copper. Copper Phosphorous provides a range of other benefits like improving Tensile Strength, Removes Brittleness Characteristics and improves machinability & workability.

Chemical Composition: Tin: 88-90%, Lead: .35% max, Antimony: 4.7-8.0%, Copper: 3.0-4.0%.

It is used for high speed and low-pressure applications. Ideal for repairing older airplane, automobile, boat, tin based Babbitt and not Lead as a Babbitt and steel liner.
